Promoting Safe Food Practices and Community Learning


The is committed to supporting programs that help strengthen skills, create opportunities, and promote community well-being. One of these initiatives is the Food Handling Course Program for community members, volunteers, and youth in the Interlake region.


Food plays an important role in Filipino culture and community gatherings. From fundraisers and celebrations to volunteer events and family activities, proper food safety and preparation practices help ensure that everyone can enjoy meals safely and responsibly.


Why This Program Is Important


The Food Handling Course is designed to help participants learn the basics of safe food preparation, storage, cleanliness, and handling practices.


This program helps:

  • Promote food safety awareness

  • Support volunteers involved in community events and fundraisers

  • Prepare participants for future employment opportunities

  • Build confidence in kitchen and food service environments

  • Encourage responsible food preparation practices
