For more than a decade, Filipino families have been living, working, and contributing to the Interlake Region. Today, we are excited to share a meaningful piece of good news — our community is officially coming together through the formation of the Interlake Filipino Community of Manitoba Inc.

This marks a positive step forward in creating a shared space where culture is celebrated, connections are strengthened, and future generations can grow with pride in their Filipino heritage.

The decision to formally register our organization reflects the growth and readiness of our community. By establishing a non-profit organization, we are creating a strong and transparent foundation that allows us to organize events, support initiatives, and represent our community with care and accountability.

This milestone opens new opportunities for collaboration, cultural programming, and meaningful community engagement across the Interlake Region and nearby communities.

The registration process was led by Michelle Valenzuela, President of the Interlake Filipino Community of Manitoba Inc., whose dedication to thoughtful planning and inclusive leadership helped guide this important step.

We are also grateful for the guidance and support of Miss Beverly Magaway, whose experience and willingness to assist provided clarity and encouragement throughout the process.
