A Proud Moment at Street Fest: Culture on Display

Last year’s Street Fest was made even more special as the Filipino community proudly took part in the parade — highlighted by the presence of a traditional jeepney from Vickar Motors in Winnipeg. Seeing the jeepney roll through the streets was a powerful and joyful symbol of Filipino culture, history, and identity, shared with the wider community.
We are deeply grateful for the efforts of our then President, Reyam Baltazar, whose leadership and dedication helped make this possible. With the support of the entire 2025 committee, the vision came to life — bringing together dancers, families, volunteers, and supporters who all worked as one.
Throughout the parade, our community showcased Filipino talent, creativity, and tradition — from colorful attire and cultural pride to warm smiles and energetic participation. It was a moment of celebration not just of culture, but of unity and belonging.
Maraming salamat to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and heart. This Street Fest reminded us of what we can achieve together — proudly sharing who we are, honoring our roots, and strengthening our place within the community.
We look forward to many more moments like this as we continue to celebrate Filipino culture, together.
