Celebrating Culture and Community at the 2025 Street Fest

The 2025 Street Fest was a truly special moment for the Interlake Filipino community. This year, we were proud to participate with a cultural float inspired by the Bahay Kubo and a group of energetic street dancers dressed in traditional Filipino costumes.

Our float was a celebration of Filipino heritage — from the familiar Bahay Kubo design to the vibrant colors, handmade decorations, and floral details that reflected creativity, teamwork, and cultural pride. Alongside it, our street dancers brought joy and life to the festival, sharing Filipino rhythm, movement, and spirit with everyone watching.

A Community Effort from Start to Finish

What made this Street Fest experience truly meaningful was the amount of heart and effort poured into it by our community.

From planning and building the float, to painting, decorating, rehearsing, and coordinating on the day of the event, this was a collective effort. Families, youth, volunteers, and supporters came together — offering their time, skills, materials, and encouragement to make sure we could proudly represent Filipino culture at the festival.

This was bayanihan in action.
